November 2017: Jonathan Levit Lecture
Post date: Nov 07, 2017 6:32:46 PM
Our November meeting is a lecture by magician-actor-host Jonathan Levit at our next meeting on Thursday, November 9th at the SCV Boys & Girls Club. The lecture will start at 7:30 pm and will be free for all current Ring 280 members. Non-Ring 280 members are welcome to join us for this event with a fee of $10 payable at the door.
Jonathan is a man of many talents: you may have seen him playing an evil magician on the X-Files, or hosting the magic reality TV series “Celebracadabra” on A&E, or co-hosting all of the General Sessions at MAGIC Live 2017, or in numerous other movies and TV shows. And if you were at the Magic Castle in mid-October, you might have been lucky enough to catch one of his 28 shows in the Close-Up Gallery. AMA members that week were also treated to the same lecture that Jonathan is bringing to us. He told me that the lecture features lots of tricks (primarily cards with some coins), most of which are in the easy-to-intermediate range, with a “knuckle-buster” thrown in for good measure. Jonathan will also be sharing his insights on motivating your movements, misdirection (verbal/physical/time), and tips on how to “get ahead” (and stay ahead) of your audience… along with the importance of being patient and not rushing when you do get ahead of your spectators!
