November 9: “It's the Festival of Trees: What Could You Do?”

Post date: Oct 31, 2013 9:16:58 PM

Our November meeting is scheduled for Saturday, November 9th from 11am-12pm at the Boys & Girls Club.

Our theme is “It's the Festival of Trees: What Could You Do?” The idea is simple: for the many years, Ring 280 has supported the local Boys & Girls Club by volunteering to perform magic at their annual Festival of Trees. See more information about the volunteering in the article “Giving Back to the Community and Earning Mark Wilson Dollars” elsewhere in the newsletter.

We are also producing two different magic shows this year. So at our November meeting, I’d like to talk about some performance opportunities our youth members have at the Festival (for both strolling and close-up magic, as well as the full stage shows). We will also be teaching some more magic out of Mark Wilson’s Complete Course in Magic book.

About the Festival of Trees

The Festival of Trees is a fundraising event for the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley. A visit to the Festival is a great way to kick off the holiday season. Not only can you view the many beautiful and elaborately decorated trees which are available for purchase, but you can also purchase small tabletop trees, holiday wreaths, stockings, and charming one-of-a-kind gingerbread houses. Large trees range in height from six to nine feet, and many come with gifts including furniture, event tickets, wine, jewelry, and more.
