I.B.M. Ring 280 Youth is the highly respected junior branch of the International Brotherhood of Magicians (I.B.M.). The global membership of the I.B.M. actively supports this dynamic youth focused program to promote, educate and enhance the activities of talented young magicians around the world.
The Ring 280 Magic Youth is a free program is open to youth, ages 7-17. Parents must be present at all times. Children cannot be dropped off. We ask those planning to attend a meeting to RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org.
On March 10, 2013, a nice article about IBM Ring 280 Magic Youth was on the front page of the Signal newspaper.
Visit the Ring 280 Youth Reference Guide for a breakdown of what was taught at each meeting and where you can find more information.
We invite anyone interested in the Youth Magic program to attend our regular Thursday night meetings. We are in the process of finding a new time for our Youth Magician meetings.
IBM Ring 280 Youth
Although we are in the process of rebooting our Magic Youth Program, our younger magicians are always welcome to attend our regular IBM Ring 280 meetings. We realize our meetings run late, so please feel free to leave at any time.
In March, we would like to have a small youth meeting from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., prior to our regular Ring meeting. Please be sure to arrive by 7:00 p.m.
June Meeting (June 14th)
Please note that we are holding a special off-site meeting in June - at the Santa Clarita Touch-a-Truck event. Since the Ring is once again performing at this year's Touch-a-Truck event, which falls on the second Saturday of June, we decided to invite all youth members to be part of Touch-a-Truck, rather than reschedule.
Please contact Brian@ibmring280.com to RSVP and get more information. Not only will you have the opportunity to watch your fellow magicians perform in a public setting, you’ll also have a chance to do some magic yourself, as we welcome our youth to perform alongside our Ring 280 magicians. Even if you only have one magic trick, if you are comfortable and ready, bring your magic and be part of the performance.
Look for details about Touch-a-Truck in the newsletter.
The next IBM Ring 280 Magic Youth meeting is Saturday, May 10th, from 11am-12pm at the Boys & Girls Club. Our theme is Silk Magic.
Special Note About Our June Meeting (June 14th)
Please note that we are holding a special off-site meeting in June - at the Santa Clarita Touch-a-Truck event. Since the Ring is once again performing at this year's Touch-a-Truck event, which falls on the second Saturday of June, rather than reschedule, we decided to invite all youth members to be part of Touch-a-Truck.

Our March meeting will be held on Saturday, March 8th, from 11am-12pm at the Boys and Girls Club. The theme for March is “Routining.” We will be sharing ideas of how you can string together a series of effects and tricks to make them into a presentation and show.
January marks the one-year anniversary of the Ring 280 Magic Youth.
Our theme for January is “school magic.” Show us magic you could do when you are at school. (But not during class!)
January 11 from 11am-12pm at the Boys & Girls Club in Newhall. See you there!
Because the Boys and Girls Club is holding a boutique the second weekend in December, we will not be meeting in the month of December. Instead, all Youth Magic members are welcome to attend our annual holiday party on Saturday, December 7th. Please see more information about the holiday party in this month’s newsletter. We will resume our meeting and celebrate our 1-year anniversary in January!
On December 12 we will be having a magicians swap meet. Whether you are buying, selling or both, it's free. Join us at 7:30 pm at the Boys & Girls Club.
Our November meeting is scheduled for Saturday, November 9th from 11am-12pm at the Boys & Girls Club.
Our theme is “It's the Festival of Trees: What Could You Do?” The idea is simple: for the many years, Ring 280 has supported the local Boys & Girls Club by volunteering to perform magic at their annual Festival of Trees. See more information about the volunteering in the article “Giving Back to the Community and Earning Mark Wilson Dollars” elsewhere in the newsletter.
We are also producing two different magic shows this year. So at our November meeting, I’d like to talk about some performance opportunities our youth members have at the Festival (for both strolling and close-up magic, as well as the full stage shows). We will also be teaching some more magic out of Mark Wilson’s Complete Course in Magic book.

Our next Ring 280 Youth meeting will be held on the first Saturday of the

Our meeting theme for October is Halloween magic, so come prepared to
watch some fun Halloween-themed magic, and be sure to bring your own to

See you on October 5th!
Our next Ring 280 Magic Youth meeting is scheduled for Sept. 14 from 11am-12pm at the Boys and Girls Club in Newhall.
September will be a workshop entitled: “The one magic trick I can perform well.” Come prepared to show us your one trick, and if you don’t have one, we will teach you one to work on. This is in preparation for Day for Kids, where we want our Ring 280 Youth to be there performing – even if it is one trick. (The magic doesn’t have to be out of Mark’s book.)
